Porta-Nails are designed specifically for tongue and groove wood floors using the Porta-Nailer and or Portamatic flooring installation tools This fastener has been the standard for close to 50 years and is recommended for use when installing 1/ 2 “ to 3/4” Solid wood flooring on a 3/4"subfloor that is secured to concrete. The patent Porta-Nail offers the following features: Wide head wedge shaped design with well defined barbs which prevent the nail from backing out. A cupped point which enables the nail to cut through the wood thus minimizing the potential for splitting. These design features provide for the greatest impact and holding power to ensure that your floor lasts a lifetime. One pack of 1000 Porta-Nails will nail approximately 200 square feet of tongue and groove flooring. For use in Porta Nailer Models 401, 402, 501,410, 421 and 470.

PNI’s 1-1/2 In. 18 gauge L Head Flooring nail is for use with PNI’s 418A Portamatic Evolution and with all brands of nailers using an 18 ga L Flooring nail /cleat. The 1-1/2 In. nail is recommended for use with 1/2 In. to 5/8 In. engineered, bamboo and solid hardwood floors. The 18 gauge nail is a thinner than the traditional 16 gauge nail and is effective in reducing the splitting of tongues on vertical and horizontal grain bamboo and exotic hardwoods. The thinner nail will also reduce the chance of dimpling engineered and thinner hardwood floors. Our nail has sharp serrated edges to bite into the flooring and a blunt tip to help reduce the risk of slitting the hardwoods. The nails are collated with tape and are packed 1200 per pack. Each pack will cover approximately 200 sq ft of 2-1/4 In. and 350 sq ft of 3-1/4 In. flooring when following a nailing schedule of 6 to 8 inches. Our nails are produced with the finest material and will hold up for the life of the floor

The 470 Portamatic TL pneumatic flooring nailer is designed to nail ¾” thick wood flooring.  Designed to accept 1-1/ 2 or 2” Flooring nails T OR L Flooring nails. You choose the Porta-Nail flooring fastener T or L based on the style you are now using or style that is readily available to you. Operates at 70-90 PSI @ 3.5 cfm. A light tap of the mallet ensures the Porta-Nail is set tight in the proper location every time for a wood floor that stays put. The Portamatic TL is light weight; easy to use has an integrated safety to prevent accidental discharge. PNI’s 418A Portamatic Evolution is designed to give you tight floors and exact nail placement for 3/8" to 5/8" Engineered and Horizontal or Vertical Grain Bamboo flooring requiring the use of an 18 ga nail to reduce the risk of splitting the tongue of the wood or dimpling the top prefinished surface. (Nails are available in lengths of 1-1/4 In. # 41801 and 1-1/2 In. # 41802) Today’s imported and prefinished floors need special attention for the nail placement and protecting the top edge of the factory finish. The 418A delivers with an 18 ga nail and adjustable base plate second to none. First, it sets against the front of the tongue, reducing the risk of damaging the top edge of the flooring. Second, it features a shim-less height adjustment through the action of an easy to adjust cam mechanism.
